The Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs recently announced that the Global Talent Employer Sponsored (GTES) pilot program, which falls under the Subclass 482 – Temporary Skill Shortage visa has been a success and will become a permanent fixture of the program. Expression of Interest (EOI) applications for Subclass 489 - Skilled - Regional (Provisional) visas will close from 10 September 2019 with no invitations for this visa to be issued after this date. Any existing 489 visa invitations must be lodged by 15 November 2019 to make way for the Subclass 491 – Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa, which will commence on 16 November 2019.
