Without any official media release or accompanying regulations, the requirements for the new Subclass 870 – Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa has been listed on the Department of Home Affairs’ website and is set to commence on 17 April 2019. Of interest might be the criteria of becoming an approved family sponsor as it could offer a preview for what is in store for other family visas.
