Permanent migration numbers expected to be down 10% due to integrity checks, processing delays

Australian’s permanent migration numbers are set to come up around 10% short of the 190,000 total migration places this programme year. The Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs stated that this was because of increased integrity checks. Processing delays for Subclass 186 - Employer Nomination Scheme and Subclass 187 - Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visas are revealed, with more than 40% of on-hand applications taking more than 12 months to process.
